How to Apply for the WRPLast Modified: 07/08/2008 Applications are taken at any time of the year. The agency receives an allocation each fiscal year after October 1 and extends offers in order to those applicants with the highest ranking score (WRP Application Ranking and Selection) until all funds are obligated for that year. To submit an application for WRP contact the NRCS office in the USDA Service Center for the county where the land is located. Applicants first complete an AD-1153 Application for Long Term Contracted Assistance (WRP Forms page). The AD-1153 form can be printed out and returned to the appropriate USDA Service Center by fax, letter, or in person. A personal visit is the preferred method in order for the agency to provide more detailed information about the program and have a better understanding of the area offered and the landowner’s objectives. Applicants should also provide a map of the farm or portion of the farm they wish to enroll. Applicants will need to provide a copy of the property deed for proof of ownership and a list of all co-owners, but this can be provided at a later date after submitting the AD-1153 (WRP Forms page). Other program information and applications can be obtained at any USDA Service Center by telephone, fax, email, letter, or in person. |
